My favorite book of the year so far。 I adored this truthful, honest and unforgiving insight into the expanse that is love。 How we misunderstand it, over look it, and under appreciate it, yet it it runs throughout all our lives in such different yet similar ways, as Lynn puts ‘through asking people how to love, all along I have been finding out how to live。’ Would highly recommend。

This book has really made me reflect and has completely transformed my view of love and relationships not only to other people but also to myself。 I found it very insightful, thought-provoking and touching。 It has helped me to process and make sense of my own experiences and I now feel I can move forward with a greater sense of knowledge and understanding。

A book that will change the way I live my life。 There are few books I've come across that have achieved this。 Reasons to stay alive by Matt Haig and Atlas of the Heart by Brené Brown are a couple of others。 Reading about the experiences of other people, especially experiences that are so important but also so difficult to talk about, can be incredibly rewarding。 The eureka moment when somebody describes exactly what you've been feeling but have struggled to put into words。 The pleasant realignme A book that will change the way I live my life。 There are few books I've come across that have achieved this。 Reasons to stay alive by Matt Haig and Atlas of the Heart by Brené Brown are a couple of others。 Reading about the experiences of other people, especially experiences that are so important but also so difficult to talk about, can be incredibly rewarding。 The eureka moment when somebody describes exactly what you've been feeling but have struggled to put into words。 The pleasant realignment of thoughts when you suddenly understand the reason why yourself or someone close to you has been behaving the way they have。 Genuine lessons that you know will enrich life and the way you view it going forward。 This book gave me all of these feelings。 Although this book probably hit me at a time where I needed to hear a lot of what was written, I'd still rate it extremely highly and recommend it to all, whether you're confident you have lots of love in your life or you feel it's missing。 。。。more

For me, after having gone through a traumatic illness such as cancer, this book really spoke to me when thinking about how we can learn to love through something as terrifying and horrific as a diagnosis or event that makes us give in to fear。 It enables you to love the life we have and to be grateful for everyone in it。This book was part memoir, part interview and part small essays which I just loved。 Because so many people are involved, there were so many different experiences to learn from。 When reading all of them, I felt so heartbroken for some, but it really taught me that by listening to others stories, you are learning, you are growing and you are showing an ounce of small affection。 I think we could all listen a little more in our capitalist culture of today。 Natasha’s story was also one of heartbreak but one that allowed her to really see what love was about。 Whether that be through loss & grieving; through sharing laughter with a friend or by the small gestures in life。 I am so glad I picked this book for arounf valentines today because it really is an eye opener。 I think every human in the world should go and pick up a copy of this story。 I do warn 。。。more

An emotional but beautiful, comforting and uplifting discussion about the various types of love and connections, and also different ways of coping with loss and grief。 The author incorporates interviews with a wide range of contributors, forming a well-balanced, comprehensive and inclusive read。Can be read as a whole or by dipping into chapters covering specific aspects。 A great read and one that I will keep coming back to。

I loved this book and as a reflection on all possible types of love, there is something for everyone to take away from it。Lunn set out to explore love and how relationships evolve over time, both by turning to experts and authors as diverse as Alain de Botton, Dolly Alderton and Candice Carty Williams and by drawing from her own experience, focusing on trying to answer three questions I am sure we have all asked ourselves at some point in our lives: How do we find love? How do we sustain love? After having seen this book recommended on Tiktok countless times and in the same category as Dolly Alderton’s ‘Everything I Know About Love,’ it was a promising read which would offer greater insight into patterns of love and communication。 A read which I struggled through due to the repetitive nature when Lunn would summarise the chapters interviews。 Not a poignant read and not something I would pick up casually to refer to at any point

An honest and delightful book which is very much aligned to my own manifesto on love: Love as actions and not feelings。 Love transcending romantic relationships to include the love you have for your friendships, family, community, passions, job etc。 Would recommend to anyone wanting to do some active reflection on relationships
